Side bets are there solely to add a layer of excitement. With 21+3, the aim is for your two hole cards and the dealer’s upcard to combine into a flush, straight, straight flush, three-of-a-kind, or suited three-of-a-kind. In order to win the Perfect Pairs side bet, your first two cards must be of the same value and suit. Of course, to take a side bet, you must also take the main bet. The rules are the same as with the original Blackjack Deluxe: beat the dealer to 21, blackjack pays 3:2, insurance pays 2:1, and the dealer must stand on all 17s.
